a quote and a glimpse of summer in january.

Comparison is the thief of joy.
-dwight edwards

Whenever I feel envy, I try to remember that.

But seriously people, unless you live here too (or somewhere with similar weather patterns,) you are jealous of ME.  (Terribly sorry to steal your joy.)  The high today was, I believe, 79 degrees.  Tomorrow, it's supposed to be in the mid 70s and we are headed to the beach.  And I, for one, am in need of this glorious weather.  If you are in the dead of cold or the middle of an awful storm, I hope these photographs warm you a bit...

{low quality "cell" phone pictures i took on a morning walk through the neighborhood--
not this morning and not my neighborhood, but close enough ;)}
 {oh, and not sure where my mind is, but don't the rocks in the background look a bit like the silhouette of a kissing couple?  can't wait to see if they look this way to me tomorrow!}

Whether you're in a bikini or a snowsuit, I hope you enjoy your weekend!

  1. Serrrrrrrrrrrriously!! I'm sitting here in a tank top, hair in a pony tail (knowing me though, this means nothing... my hair would probably be in a pony tail in snowy weather as well:), sippin' on an iced coffee- and LOVING it:).

    January is "spring" in CA, right??

    And thank you for your comments today. A tough start to the day, and they made me smile... truly. (and no- not offended at all:)

  6. Have a good weekend! I'm a little jealous. The temp here is in the 50's so it's not too bad. Not tank top and shorts but thankfully not full on winter gear either. :)

  7. Ha, that's so true about the rocks!

    I really needed to read that quote. Thanks so much for posting that!

    I'm in Upstate New York, covered in 1.5 feet of snow. But I love it! 79 is too hot for me, I like about 70 degrees. However, I wouldn't mind a little beach break after shoveling out from the latest storm.

    However... that is a fantastic quote - thanks for sharing.

  9. Well, this week I was dead in the middle of winter! It has all melted away. It certainly isn't the 79 that I would love, but we're not in the coldest place either. Summer is my favorite time of year, so I appreciated this like no other post!! I am all about water as well. I think that is really a picture of me kissing June, July and August on my day planner!
